Insulated. Dual-zone chilling. No neoprene sleeve.
The BrewTaurus PF160 PRO Unitank is a 160 L insulated conical unitank with a 304 stainless vessel — 163.4 L to the top of the straight wall, 173.3 L brim-full. It has two separate glycol jackets — one on the cone, one on the body — under 2 cm of PU foam and a stainless outer skin, instead of a neoprene sleeve. 39.8 L sits in the ~57° cone and 123.6 L in the straight cylinder. 2" bottom dump with elbow + butterfly valve, 8" top port, 2" heating-element port on the cone, Tri-Clamp throughout, rated to 2 bar. Ferment ~10–150 L — it chills efficiently from as little as 5 L of wort, so test batches and full-volume brews both work.

Volumes: cone, cylinder, dome
On a conical it matters where the litres sit: the cone takes the yeast and trub, the cylinder holds the beer, the dome is headspace.
| Zone | Height | Volume | Filled up to here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cone 2" dump to the straight wall |
460 mm | 39.8 L | 39.8 L |
| Cylinder straight wall |
520 mm | 123.6 L | 163.4 L |
| Dome top of the wall to the manway neck |
56 mm | 9.9 L | 173.3 L brim-full |
Above the cone, every centimetre of level in the cylinder adds 2.38 L.

The cone and the body each have their own glycol circuit, so you can cool them independently: keep the cone colder to drop yeast, or crash only the cone after fermentation. With the cone jacket running, even a few litres in the cone stay cold, which is why the tank chills efficiently from about 5 L. The PU foam holds the temperature between cooling cycles; the top head with the manway and ports stays bare stainless.

FAQ
How much fits in the cone?
39.8 L from the 2" dump up to where the straight wall starts. Every centimetre above that adds 2.38 L.
How small a batch can I cool?
The cone has its own jacket, so a part-filled cone stays in contact with the cooling. It chills efficiently from about 5 L of wort.
How much headspace is left?
Brim-full is 173.3 L. At the top of the recommended range (150 L) about 23.3 L stays free — the dome alone holds 9.9 L.
What does brim-full mean here?
Filled to the base of the manway neck. Filled to the top of the straight wall, it is 163.4 L.
What do I need to run the jackets?
A glycol chiller connected to the cone jacket and the body jacket (2× 1.5" TC each). The two circuits are separate, so you can run them together or one at a time.
Is the whole tank insulated?
The cone and the cylinder are, with ~2 cm PU foam under a stainless skin. The top head with the 8" port and the 1.5" ports stays bare stainless.
Can I heat it?
Yes. The 2" TC port on the side of the cone takes a 2" Tri-Clamp heating element (not included) — for controlled temperature boosts, Kveik, or holding temperature in a cold room. The port sits on the cone, where the inside diameter is only about 38 cm — check the element length against that. Keep the element fully covered whenever it is on: that takes roughly 17 L in the tank. Power control is external (temperature controller + relay). 230 V · one dedicated, RCD-protected circuit per element — have a qualified electrician size and connect the circuits.
