Real unitank architecture — now FULLY jacketed.
The BrewTaurus PF160 Fully Jacketed Unitank is a 170.5 L (brim-full) conical unitank in 304 stainless. It takes our proven PF Unitank platform and upgrades the cooling: the glycol jacket covers both the cone and the cylindrical body. 42.8 L sits in the 60° cone and 108.8 L in the straight cylinder. Real 2" bottom dump, 8" manway, 2" heating-element port, Tri-Clamp throughout, 2.0 bar working pressure (2.5 bar max). Ferment ~15–150 L — cooling works at any fill level, from a full tank down to the last litres in the cone. At pilot scale, where batch sizes vary, that flexibility matters most.

Volumes: cone, cylinder, dome
On a conical it matters where the litres sit: the cone takes the yeast and trub, the cylinder holds the beer, the dome is headspace.
| Zone | Height | Volume | Filled up to here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cone incl. R80 knuckle |
457 mm | 42.8 L | 42.8 L |
| Cylinder straight wall |
458 mm | 108.8 L | 151.6 L |
| Dome top seam to the manway neck |
111 mm | 18.9 L | 170.5 L brim-full |
Above the cone, every centimetre of level in the cylinder adds 2.38 L.

Because the cone is cooled too, there is no practical cooling minimum: even a small volume sitting in the cone stays in full contact with the jacket. Brew a 40 L pilot batch in this tank, crash-cool a partial volume, or serve beer straight from the tank — the last pours stay just as cold as the first, because cooling stays efficient as the level drops into the cone. The upper limit is simply fermentation headspace. The supplied neoprene jacket improves stability further, and the 1.5 mm body adds the rigidity a tank this size deserves.

Pressure safety: working pressure 2.0 bar, maximum allowable 2.5 bar, always use a PRV and never run the vessel above its working pressure.
Cooling jacket: 0.2 bar working pressure, 0.3 bar max.
Never pressurise the jacket on its own while the tank is unpressurised.
Every tank is air-pressure tested at the factory with a 4-hour static hold.
Run the jacket off a glycol chiller · Clean it with the CIP Kit · Heat it with a 2" heating element · Matching brewhouse: K220 1V · K220 2V · K220 3V · See all Pressurised Fermenters

FAQ
How much fits in the cone?
42.8 L up to where the straight wall starts (incl. the R80 knuckle). Every centimetre above that adds 2.38 L.
How small a batch can I cool?
The jacket runs down to the 2" dump, so even a part-filled cone stays in contact with the cooling. We recommend batches from ~15 L.
How much headspace is left?
Brim-full is 170.5 L. At the top of the recommended range (150 L) about 20.5 L stays free — the dome alone holds 18.9 L.
What does brim-full mean here?
Filled to the base of the manway neck. Filled to the top seam, where the straight wall ends, it is 151.6 L.
What do I need to run the jacket?
A glycol chiller connected to the two 1.5" TC jacket ports. The neoprene jacket in the box keeps the temperature stable between cooling cycles.
Can I heat it?
Yes. The 2" TC port at the top of the cone takes a 2" Tri-Clamp heating element (not included) — to hold temperature in a cold cellar, ferment Kveik hot, or use the tank as an HLT. Check the element length against the Ø550 mm inner diameter and keep it fully covered whenever it is on. Power control is external (temperature controller + relay). 230 V · one dedicated, RCD-protected circuit per element — have a qualified electrician size and connect the circuits.
