K80 Malt Pipe — 64 L Stainless Grain Basket

The K80 malt pipe on its own — for the K80 kettle you already have, or any kettle it fits.

A 64 L stainless grain basket made for the BrewTaurus K80 Boil Kettle: laser-cut bottom + four rows of side perforations, a 1.5" Tri-Clamp port on the top ring and two silicone handles. Mash in it, lift it, hang it on the rim to drain, sparge — up to ~22 kg of grain in the K80 kettle.

In the K80 kettle

• Mash position: the top of the pipe sits 841.2 mm above the floor.
• Drain position: the pipe hangs on the kettle rim with its bottom at the 80 L line, so the wort drains back while you sparge. Its top then sits 1256.9 mm above the floor.
• 14 L sits below the malt pipe. It is part of your strike water but sits under the grain bed — count it when you set mash thickness.
• At full grain the malt pipe weighs more than 50 kg even after draining. To lift it fully out, plan at least 1.34 m to the top of the pipe (rim + pipe height) plus room for your hands or hoist. Use a hoist or pulley and heat-resistant gloves.
• The K80 kettle lid sits on the top ring of the malt pipe.

FAQ

Will it fit my own kettle?
It is made for the K80 Boil Kettle (93.3 L, inner Ø450 mm). For another kettle, compare the overall diameter (Ø475 mm) and the height (579.8 mm) with your kettle before you order.

How much grain fits?
