Orange zest, grapefruit and ripe apricot, with a floral lift. Amarillo brings sunny, sweet-edged citrus to a pale ale, and enough alpha for a balanced bittering charge.
Alpha 8.0–11.5 % · Beta 6.0–7.0 % · Boil & dry hop · T90 pellets · Crop 2025 · 100 g
What it does in your beer
Amarillo is a high-myrcene aroma variety: citrus and grapefruit up front, with subtle herbal and woody notes. Variety data adds apricot, peach and honeydew melon, while our product data sums it up as floral and citrus.
The bitterness is balanced, so it works from the first addition to the dry hop. Pale ales, IPAs, double IPAs, session IPAs and amber ales are where growers point it.

How to use
- First addition: 10 g for 60 minutes adds about 11 IBU to 20 L, with a balanced bitterness.
- Second addition: recommended, for flavour.
- Dry hop: recommended. That's where the aroma goes into the beer rather than out with the steam.
