Coconut, tangerine and pineapple — from a hop, not a piña colada. Sabro brings creamy tropical fruit with a herbal, minty twist, and 14–17 % alpha behind it.
Alpha 14–17 % · Beta 5–7 % · Late boil & dry hop · Coconut, citrus, tropical · T90 pellets · Crop 2025 · 100 g
What it does in your beer
Coconut is Sabro's signature. Variety data describes creamy coconut with tangerine, pineapple, peach and other stone fruit, plus herbal notes of cedar, dill and mint. Its pedigree traces back to a neomexicanus hop.
Sabro is at home in IPAs and NEIPAs, and variety data says it can carry a single-hop (SMaSH) beer on its own. It's recommended for late additions and the dry hop.

How to use
- Late boil and whirlpool: with 14–17 % alpha, even a late charge adds noticeable bitterness — about 4 IBU from 10 g at 5 minutes in 20 L.
- Hot whirlpool: bitterness keeps extracting above about 60 °C, so count those IBU too.
- Dry hop: where the coconut and tropical fruit come through most.
- Single hop: variety data says Sabro stands up on its own in a SMaSH beer.
Pairs well with
Brewing a NEIPA? Start with BESTMALZ BEST Pale Ale and oat flakes for body, ferment with Lallemand New England and run Citra alongside Sabro in the dry hop.
Storage & shelf life
- Store it sealed, cold, dry and dark; oxygen, heat and light all strip aroma.
- T90 pellet data calls for −3 to 5 °C in a dry, odour-free place.
- Opened? Squeeze out the air, reseal and use it soon.
