Designed operating range
- Nominal vessel capacity: 46 L
- Recommended batch size (into fermenter): 30–38 L
- Maximum practical knockout volume: ~42 L
- Minimum efficient batch size: ~20–25 L
The system performs most consistently in the 30–38 L range, where heating dynamics and liquid geometry remain stable.
Grain load & mash performance
- Recommended grain bill: 8–12 kg
- High gravity practical maximum: ~14 kg
- Recommended mash thickness: 2.5–3.2 L/kg
- Filtration: Laser-cut stainless false bottom (K40)
Example: 10 kg grain at 2.8 L/kg → approx. 28 L mash volume.
Stable recirculation achievable with dual magnetic pumps.
Heating performance
- 1 × 3.5 kW tri-clamp heating element
- 1 × Inkbird C236T (16A EU plug)
Requires one independent 16A electrical circuit.
Estimated heat-up time (35 L water, 15°C → 100°C):
≈ 25–35 minutes depending on ambient temperature.
Boil performance at 30–38 L:
Rolling boil achievable. Evaporation depends on environment and boil intensity.
Hydraulics & flow
- Pumps: 2 × Magnetic pump R15
- Architecture: Sanitary 1.5" tri-clamp routing
- Quick connect system: 11 × 1.5" TC 1/2" quick connect fittings
- Routing hardware: Stainless manifold + tees + valves
Dual pump routing enables:
- Mash recirculation
- Transfer between vessels
- Whirlpool preparation
- Cleaning recirculation through sanitary TC ports
Cooling performance
- Counterflow wort chiller (single-pass)
At groundwater temperature 10–15°C:
Single-pass cooling to fermentation temperature is achievable with controlled flow rate.
Knockout time (35 L): typically within minutes, depending on water pressure and delta-T.
Cleaning & CIP
- CIP-ready: Lid port allows installation of a CIP spray head
- Sanitary TC architecture: All ports serviceable and accessible
System supports recirculation cleaning through the process loop. For higher-flow CIP performance, use a dedicated CIP-capable pump configuration via quick-connect routing.
Power & installation requirements
- 1 × 16A electrical circuit
- Stable water supply for counterflow chiller
- Flat, load-bearing surface

Example batch + brewhouse efficiency
Target beer: 12°P Pale Ale / APA (≈1.048 OG)
Target volume into fermenter: 35 L
Base malts typically provide ~80% extract potential (dry basis). Brewhouse efficiency depends on crush, lautering and sparge control.
Calculation
- Wort mass: 35 L × 1.048 ≈ 36.7 kg
- Extract in wort: 12% of 36.7 kg ≈ 4.40 kg
Implied efficiency by grain bill
- 8 kg malt: 6.4 kg potential → ≈ 69%
- 9 kg malt: 7.2 kg potential → ≈ 61%
- 10 kg malt: 8.0 kg potential → ≈ 55%
Realistic brewhouse efficiency: 65–75% depending on process control.
