The BrewTaurus K40 2V is a 48.1 L two-vessel stainless brewing system: separate mash and boil vessels, 3.5 kW tri-clamp heating, dual-pump routing and a counterflow chiller. Full stainless tri-clamp architecture, no proprietary internals — built to outgrow all-in-one.

Designed operating range

  • Nominal vessel capacity: 48.1 L · recommended batch (into fermenter): 30–38 L
  • Max practical knockout: ~42 L · minimum efficient batch: ~20–25 L
  • Most consistent in the 30–38 L range

Heating, grain & mash

  • 1× 3.5 kW tri-clamp element · 1× Inkbird C236T (16A EU plug) · one 16A circuit
  • Heat-up (35 L, 15→100°C): ≈25–35 min · rolling boil at 30–38 L
  • Recommended grain bill: 8–12 kg (high-gravity ~14 kg) · mash thickness 2.5–3.2 L/kg
  • Laser-cut K40 stainless false bottom · example: 10 kg × 2.8 L/kg → ~28 L mash

Hydraulics, cooling & cleaning

  • 2× magnetic pump R15 for recirculation, vessel transfer, whirlpool and cleaning loops
  • Sanitary 1.5" tri-clamp routing · 11× 1.5" TC ½" quick-connects · stainless manifold + tees + valves
  • Counterflow wort chiller (single-pass) — single-pass to fermentation temp at 10–15°C groundwater
  • CIP-ready lid port for a spray head · all ports serviceable

Brewhouse-efficiency example

Target 12°P Pale Ale (~1.048 OG), 35 L into fermenter → ~4.40 kg extract needed. Base malt potential ~80% (dry). Implied efficiency: 8 kg → ~69%, 9 kg → ~61%, 10 kg → ~55%. Realistic range 65–75% depending on crush, lautering and sparge control.
