One malt, one pale Czech lager. Floor-malted Pilsner malt at 3.1 EBC that can carry the entire grist on its own.
3.1 EBC · Up to 100 % of grist · Extract min. 81.6 % · Floor-malted · Czech · Sold per 100 g
What it does in your beer
This is base malt. It supplies the extract — at least 81.6 % on a dry basis — and next to no colour: 3.1 EBC, about 1.7 °L. Mash it alone for a pale Czech-style lager, or lay it under specialty malts in a Kölsch, an ale, an export or a light session beer.
Any colour, caramel or roast beyond pale has to come from what you add on top. Its job is simple: turn up in quantity and get out of the way.

How much for a 20 L batch
Up to 100 % of the grist. On a typical 5 kg grist for 20 L that's up to 5,000 g — order 50 × 100 g.
Each 1 kg in 20 L adds ≈ +11.3 gravity points (≈ +2.8 °P) at 75 % efficiency. A 5 kg all-Pilsner grist lands around OG 1.057 with ≈ 7 EBC of colour (approx., extract-based / Morey; 3.1 EBC, extract 81.6 % dry basis, moisture 4.2 %).
Each unit in the quantity box is 100 g, so 1 kg of Pilsner malt is 10.
How to use
- Use it as the base of the mash — it can make up the entire grist.
- Order in 100 g steps: 4.5 kg = 45, 5 kg = 50.
- No mill at home? Pick Crushed and plan your brew day within about 5 days of delivery.
- Got a mill? Take Whole grain and crush it on brew day.
Pairs well with
Brewing a Czech-style pilsner? Try it with Žatec Semi-Early Red (Saaz) hops and SafLager W34/70 or S-189 lager yeast.
Want a little more malt sweetness? Add Weyermann® CARAPILS® — Weyermann recommends 5–10 % of the grist.

Yes. It is specified for up to 100 % of the grist.
What OG will 5 kg give me in 20 L?
Roughly 1.057 at 75 % efficiency (approx., extract-based). Your own brewhouse efficiency moves that up or down.
How pale is it?
3.1 EBC, which is roughly 1.7 °L — it adds next to no colour of its own.
