Clear beer, ready to pour — the 400 L bright beer tank.

The BrewTaurus PRO BBT-400 is a jacketed bright beer tank rated 2.0 bar working / 4.0 bar design and test pressure for maturation, forced carbonation and serving. 400 L effective, 560 L total, with a sight tube for level reading and a carbonation stone port for carbonating in under 24 hours.

Vessel architecture

  • SUS304 inner vessel Ø900 mm, dished top and 160° dished bottom, dimple-plate glycol jacket
  • 80 mm PU insulation, brushed SUS304 outer shell Ø1060 mm
  • Jacket pressure-tested at 4.0 bar for 24 h before dispatch · TIG welded · interior pickled and passivated
  • Four height-adjustable legs with leveling pads · lifting lugs

Ports & fittings

Ø50.8 drain / beer outlet · Ø32 glycol inlet and outlet · G1/2 thermowell with temperature probe · Ø38.1 sampling valve · pressure gauge · pressure relief valve · Ø38.1 CIP arm with 360° spray ball · Ø38.1 carbonation port · Ø19 sight tube (liquid level) · DN400 flanged top manhole. All product connections tri-clamp.

Fermenter and bright tank

Pair the BBT-400 with a CF-400 of the same size: ferment in the conical, transfer under pressure to the bright tank, carbonate and serve from it while the next batch is already fermenting. One bright tank per two fermenters is a common starting ratio.

Installation: glycol supply from a chiller sized to your cellar (Ø32 tri-clamp jacket connections), CO2 supply for carbonation and serving, floor drain, level floor rated for approx. 828 kg filled. Tri-clamp throughout — no welding on site.
