Pink grapefruit, dried rose and a streak of pine resin. Talus, a daughter of Sabro, is a floral-citrus aroma hop for pale ales, pilsners and anything hop-forward.
Alpha 8–12 % · Beta 8–10 % · Late boil & dry hop · Grapefruit, rose, pine · T90 pellets · Crop 2024
What it does in your beer
Talus leads with pink grapefruit and citrus rind, backed by tropical fruit, dried rose, pine resin and a herbal hint of sage. Variety data also mentions lime and red currant.
Its alpha and beta acids sit close together, which makes it usable earlier in the boil too, but late additions and the dry hop are where it's meant to be. Pale ales, pilsners and light, hop-forward beers suit it.

How to use
- Late boil and whirlpool: bright grapefruit and floral notes.
- Dry hop: the main use — rose, pine and citrus peel on the nose.
- Early boil: workable thanks to the balanced alpha-beta ratio; 10 g for 60 minutes gives about 12 IBU in 20 L.
- Crop 2024: plan your IBU from the alpha on your pack.
