Orange, mango, guava and ripe peach over a resinous backbone. Krush is a flavour-forward hop whose fruit makes it from the bag all the way into the glass.

Alpha 10.1–14.1 % · Beta 6.3–9.4 % · Oil 1.5–3.0 ml/100 g · Late hop & dry hop · T90 pellets · Crop 2025 · 100 g

What it does in your beer

The breeder describes a robust citrus and tropical fruit profile that translates clearly from the raw hop to the finished beer: citrus (orange), tropical fruit (mango, guava), stone fruit (peach), mixed berry and a woody, resinous note.

It took the breeder 17 years to get from a 2007 cross to commercial release in 2024. The recommended use is late in the boil and in the dry hop, and grower data points it at NEIPAs, West Coast IPAs, double and session IPAs and pale ales.

How to use

  • Kettle: add it at the end of the boil or in the whirlpool — the recommended slot is the third addition.
  • Dry hop: the other recommended use.
  • Watch the IBU: at 10.1–14.1 % alpha even a 5-minute addition of 10 g adds about 3 IBU to 20 L (table above).
  • Leftovers: reseal without air and return them to the cold. The breeder rates its storage stability as good, but cold storage still helps.
